The movie (to my understanding) is not about the politics. It's not about the left or the right. It's not about who's the president. It's not even about who wins in the end. It's About Lee and Jessie. Its about the horrors of war from the pov of the people who have to tell us the stories of war. It's about how much of you you have to give up to do that.
